Question Anyone know the forensic computer usually can be done by police or private company?
One company closed down due to could not pay the money to the investor. However the asset such as server and computer taken by the police. therefore is there any chance to do the forensic in order to get any important data from the computer. does usually success or not? Can forensic computer done by local police or should be by private company? Thanks

Best Answer Forensics is done by a Specialist within the field, or it is contracted out to the state, or the state contracts it out to a private company. A lot of legal ramifications about tainted evidence and in house adverse to a private sector or state or FBI doing this.

Question How accurate is computer forensic analysis?
My old company is mad that I deleted my Outlook e-mails off of my laptop when I returned it. They are asking for my e-mails back. I insist that I do not have or need them. I deleted them and that’s it. If they don’t have things backed up on the server, than it sounds like a problem that is not mine, but theirs. They are saying that they are going to do a forensic analysis of the PC.

Best Answer It really depends on the person doing the analysis, if they understand the concept of it. Honestly I live in a big city and most of the computer forensic analysists don't have a clue. College will teach you the book studies of it, but not the true concepts.
