Question University of Texas at Dallas, Good University?
I am currently thinking of transferring to utd, i was suppose to go to uta, but was not satisfied with their computer science program, but no disrespect to uta, it seems like a great school. I want my focal point to be on computer forensics, i know that are opening up a computer forensics institute. Is there anyone with the same interests as me, or currently taking computer science courses, or attending utd, any of theses would help

Best Answer This campus is for study, not parties, if you are interested in a good degree, and graduate programs, then it is a good school.
Question Right track to Cornell?
I'll be entering High School next year, and was just wondering if its realistic that I'll get into Cornell come my graduation. I took the PSAT last year through Duke TIP and scored above average for college bound seniors, according to the blurb on the letter. (CR: 540, M: 510, WRIT: 530, and and 8 on the Essay) I received A's in all my classes, with an A- in Honors Geometry. Spanish was included. I was president of NJHS at our school, and have qualified to be in NHS next year. I was in Student Council last year, and ran this year but didn't make it. I participated in Athletics every season. In High School I plan to take 4 seasons of drumline, cross-country, and softball, as well as help backstage in two of our musicals. That adds to 14 sports credits. I also helped out in Miracle League baseball for 2 seasons. My school requires 50 hours of Community Service, but I plan to get that this summer alone. There's a Mission not too far from my house, and I can go over there whenever I want. Does Cornell prefer a weighted GPA or unweighted? Starting Junior year, (actually I can take Computer Sciences as a Sophomore,) I can start taking AP classes. I'm already taking all Honors classes as a freshmen. Should I opt for easier courses that I'm guaranteed an A+, or stick with the Honors courses? I've been doing daily SAT practices (emailed a question/day) and we've been studying the vocab in school, so I'm pretty sure my SAT scores have gone up. I'll be taking a course at A&M University on Foreign Policy this summer. Really I'd like to go into Forensic or Biological Anthropology, but I figured I'd check out as many colleges as I could before I have to pick. Really the only thing I'm worried about is a lot of kids in my grade are very smart. 3 boys in my class received National Recognition from Duke University at last year for scoring 800s on all their SAT subjects. I know for sure I'm the smartest girl in the grade, but my grade is almost pathetically small. I think my class right now is 82 people. It'll probably fluctuate to 100 or so as 2013 approaches. But still, only 10 people will be in the top 10%. There's practically no chance of me getting top of class; unless one/all of the brain-spawn transfer. I might be able to make top 10%. I go to a private school, and while I'm really motivated, I get the feeling most kids are here only 'cause its required by law. Oh, I live near Dallas, Texas, in case that matters at all. Oh. I don't really get along with my principal, who in turn has told the High school principal about me. I've been absolutely charming to the HS principal, and the Headmaster, so will it affect my chances? Its not that I've started fights or anything (surrounded by braindead rich kids, remember?), but I tend to call him out when he's doing something wrong. He gave my friends and I detention in 5th grade for "Stealing from the school" when one of the friend's mothers had brought us the leftover doughnuts from a school charity. Even when she vouched for us, he said the punishment was valid. So... do you think I'm on the right track, or do I need to change some things? I'm really just asking because people keep saying I won't make an Ivy League, to concentrate on colleges closer to home. I think they're just brainwashed from their children's mediocre performances.
